We are MIR Appraisal Services, Inc., a fine art and personal property appraisal company dedicated to serving clients throughout the United States and abroad since our incorporation in 1994. We specialize in the multi-faceted field of appraising fine art, jewelry, antiques, and decorative items. We also provide professional fine art restoration and conservation treatment for various media, including, but not limited to, artworks on canvas, board, Masonite, and paper.
Our team of accredited appraisers provide professional and precise appraisal services for the purposes of insurance coverage and claims, charitable donations, estate planning and probate, equitable distribution and fair-market value. Additionally, we enjoy working for the not-for-profit sector, and have done a considerable amount of work for not-for-profit organizations and academic and cultural institutions. Our reports are written by qualified researchers according to the standards set forth by the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), and also in conformity with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
Accredited members of the International Society of Appraisers and/or the American Society of Appraisers, our senior appraisers offer more than 20 years of experience in appraising and in providing distinguished, expert-witness testimony in the courts of law. We pride ourselves on the quality and meticulousness of our research and appraisal reports, and our highly qualified research team is certainly behind this distinction.
MIR's main office is located in the historic Old Republic building on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago, just steps away from the beautiful Chicago River and the Art Institute of Chicago.
